Paddlers,

It comes with great pleasure that we get to distribute the finalised timetable for the coming season. This is now updated on the website, and takes into account all requests made by teams by the agreed date.

If you need to make changes please arrange with other teams, and inform the committee in advance however there are no guarantees that these can be fulfilled.

NEW LEAGUE FORMAT:

We are delighted to see the high standard of the entries coming into the league considering the long gap but this has meant we’ve had to make some adjustments.  The league has now moved back to a 4x7 division format with Div 3 being split into A & B; we intend to keep it this way for several seasons.
Some teams will of course note that they are in a lower division than what they had requested. Keep in mind the change in format of the league. This means that someone competing in lower Div-2 last season (spot#22) could now be mapped across to Div-3B.

Specifically for this season Div-3A has been left with an empty slot; so there is an opportunity for a new team to join the next league in the new year.

NEW GAME LENGTH:

This season, as Trial run only, we will attempt to play with 8-min per half. That works out as 24mins, or an extra 1.5 games for you in a season.

This will only work if all teams co-operate. The time-slots are 20-mins, so that leaves only 1-min per half-time, and 3-mins to swap teams.

Games must start on time, no exceptions. I trust All Referees will enforce this rule.

If this simply doesn't work we will revert to 7-min games.

SAFETY AT THE NEW POOL

Everyone has heard lectures on safety before so I don't intend to make to make this long.

Let me just say this: Last year at this pool in Crumlin some people walked in from the street, they took keys from some un-attended gear bags and then acquired some pretty new cars. Look after your gear, and that of our teams mates. Remember folks: Stranger Danger.

Please Please Please, we are lucky to have found a pool to let us in.
Please make sure your boats are clean before bringing them into the pool - this pool is used by others through out the day.
Now is the time to re-check the padding on your boat. We really don't want to deal with a broken tiles situation or anything else.
Don't ruin it for everyone by having too-much fun!

FEES AND CANOEING IRELAND NUMBERS

With the new pool and new CI insurance indemnity, these items are more important than ever before

All teams must have paid their fees before the 8th Sept, yes that’s today, so you’re already late! If you are not paid up by Thursday 10th, you will not be allowed play. No exceptions.

Canoeing Ireland numbers next, all players must have a valid Canoeing Ireland number, if you haven’t got it already, tell them you need it for DCPL and they’ll even cc us on the response. If you do not have an approved CI number on the Thursday before you play, you will not be allowed play. No exceptions.
